The Millennium Charter High School Governing Board has determined that due to unforeseen financial short falls and uncertainties related to construction and site renovation work that the Millennium Charter High School (MCHS) will open in August 2013 rather than 2012. The Board has exhausted all current possibilities for additional financial support. Construction and renovation work, to provide students with a necessary and safe facility, are taking longer than anticipated. The Governing Board has had to face the very difficult decision of delaying the opening of MCHS. The Board is wholly committed to opening the school in 2013.

MCHS would like to invite you to participate in planned fundraising activities, including this December 8th’s collaboration of a world-fame Mariachi band and the Monterey Symphony Orchestra performing in Salinas at Sherwood Hall. We continue our work in fundraising, facilities construction/renovation, and the necessary work to have MCHS open in the 2013 school year, implementing the mission and vision of the school.

Please watch the website (www.millenniumcharterhighschool.org) for future updates.
